Melissa Pagotto - Director / Owner

My name is Melissa and I have owned and operated A Children's Place Learning Center since 2002. I graduated from Bloomsburg University with my Bachelor's Degree in Education. 

I have 4 children of my own, all of which have attended A Children's Place Learning Center and gone through our Kindergarten program. Offering a safe and educational place where children and families can come to and feel welcomed has been my dream. 

Our center is very family oriented. We have a clean and warm environment that makes you feel welcomed as you enter our doors. 

We offer opportunities and experiences to children who would not have the chance to participate in if they did not attend my center. 

We have wonderful teaching staff who loves each child as their own and come to work every day because they want to.

Tami- Office/Floater

Hi, my name is Miss Tami and I have been with ACPLC since 2003! I have worked with all ages, in all classrooms and the office. I have over 25 years experience working with children. I have my CDA in ECE and I absolutely love working with children. I have grown very close to many of the children, staff and families and I love working here so much that I commute an hour each way!  ACPLC is my family and when you come to our center, you are welcomed and loved!

Amanda - Infant I

Hi, my name is Amanda. I have almost 5 years of experience in childcare. I  graduated with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Currently, I am a teacher in Infant 1. I thoroughly enjoy working work with our little babies. I love cuddling them and watching them hit their developmental milestones!

My favorite thing to do with the babies is arts and crafts! It is truly amazing to see them learn so much in such a short amount of time. It is an honor to have the opportunity to shape and help our youngest students grow! In my free time, I love to spend time with family and friends and also traveling.

Angela - Toddler II

My name is Angela and I am a mom 3! I have my Bachelors in Sociology and working towards my Masters in Social Work. I have worked with children in different settings and have done treatment planning, behavior plans, and more.

Childcare is truly my passion to nurture and care for children as my profession. I love to work in the infant room. Every day is different, challenging, and satisfying. 

I love spending time with my husband and children. I am happy to have found a place where I can bring my son and spend my days!

Laura - Infant II

I'm Laura Mertl and in the 16 years I have worked here I have learned so much about infants and toddlers. I graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Education. Even though my background is more on the elementary level, when I started working here with one-year-olds and discovered that they were like little sponges and are as much fun to teach, as the bigger kids. 

I have worked in daycare since 1999, but I have enjoyed working here the most because of the educational, fun, and family-oriented environment. I love how over the years I have met some really great and interesting families and my favorite part is watching them all grow up. My own two children Ryan and Gregory have gone through A Children's Place Learning Center and have benefited from this amazing environment.

Stephanie - Toddler III

Hello, my name is Miss Stephanie. I started working at A Children's Place Learning Center in May of 2014. I have over 6 years of experience in childcare. I was working  in the Infant 2 room and last year moved to the Toddler III class. I love working with this age group. We learn and grow with each other every day, and they remind me how great life is. There's nothing more amazing than watching children do things for the first time. 

I am a mother of 3 amazing boys - Tyler, Hunter, and Blake. Tyler is a student at Boston University and my young boys are in elementary school. I am currently enrolled in my CDA.

Deliza - Pre-S

Hello! My name is Deliza and I have been working at A Children's Place Learning Center since February of 2020. I am a teacher in the Toddler II classroom and could not be happier. I am currently enrolled in CDA courses focusing on Infant and Toddlers.  I love working with the toddlers and watching them change and grow daily. All the staff and families have been wonderful. They are so kind, giving, and supportive of everything and anything! I could ask for a better work environment!

Kelly - Pre-K

My name is Kelly and I have been with A Children's Place Learning Center since 2004 and it has truly become my family. I truly enjoy watching the children learn and grow, especially my son Max who comes to work with me daily! I am described as the "outside-the-box" teacher. Children are sponges and need things to absorb. 

My lessons are child-centered lessons. I let the kids take the lesson in the direction they want to go. One day we may be learning the planets and the next day we are making and eating space food. I love having fun with the kids. You can always find me playing games with my class, going for walks, or sitting and reading a story. Not only do I work in the Pre-K room, but I am the assistant director as well.

Tammy - Toddler III

Hi, my name is Tammy! I have been with A Children's Place Learning Center since 2017. I have a Bachelors in Criminal Justice and a Masters degree in Elementary School Counseling. I am also a Licensed Behavior Specialist.

I have a deep love and passion for children, and I avidly enjoy watching them express themselves. I have worked with the children of all ages and I am currently working with the older 2 year old to 3 year olds. They keep me moving and thinking all day! I love watching them grow and develop and see their personalities unfold!
